Geology is defined as ‘the study of the structure, evolution and dynamics of the Earth and its natural mineral and energy resources and investigates the processes that have shaped the Earth through its 4500 million year history.’

Are you interested in the structure of rocks and minerals and how they were formed? Earth processes such as volcanic eruptions and earthquakes? The history of the Earth’s structure and how it is still changing? Why Mount Everest is growing by about 4mm per year?

Next Meeting:- Wednesday 23rd September - Guided tour of Geology exhibits at Glasgow Museums Resource Centre, Nitshill. Meet at venue at 11 am. This meeting is limited to 12 participants. Please contact Colin Sykes (facilitator) as there are limited spaces available due to high demand.
