Geology is defined as ‘the study of the structure, evolution and dynamics of the Earth and its natural mineral and energy resources and investigates the processes that have shaped the Earth through its 4500 million year history.’

Are you interested in the structure of rocks and minerals and how they were formed? Earth processes such as volcanic eruptions and earthquakes? The history of the Earth’s structure and how it is still changing? Why Mount Everest is growing by about 4mm per year?

We have indoor Meetings from October 2024 to March 2025 where there are presentations and discussions. In the hopefully better weather from April to September we have a program of field trips, which are undertaken at your own risk. No previous knowledge is required to join the group just an interest.

If you would like more information or to join the group please contact Colin by clicking on the Facilitator Link.
