Membership of East Renfrewshire u3a

The membership year runs from 1st July to 30th June and the fee for 2025 - 2026 is £24.

This fee includes a mandatory payment to the Third Age Trust, which provides insurance cover and support services for our u3a as well as the magazine ‘Third Age Matters’, which is sent to all members five times per year.

A prospective member may attend two monthly or group meetings as a guest before deciding to join our u3a. As a courtesy, before attending a group meeting, please contact the Facilitator through the link on the group page to ask if you can attend as a non-member.

If you join in April, May or June any year, your next membership fee will not be due until July of the following year.

Join Online

Click here Membership and an email form will appear. Fill in the form and in the "Your Message" section give the following information:

  • Title: (Mr/Mrs/Ms)
  • Home address
  • Preferred contact phone number 

Finally type the following: ”I apply to become a member of East Renfrewshire u3a and agree to the terms and conditions.”

Then send your email

If you submit an application without including the vital information detailed above your application will be returned to you.

Please note that your membership application will not be processed until you have paid your membership fee. Methods of payment are listed below, but Bank Transfer is preferred.

By joining online you are:

  • Applying to become a member of East Renfrewshire u3a and confirming that you meet the eligibility conditions for u3a membership.
  • Confirming that you have read the documents on our Documents Page and especially the Members Code of Conduct Rev 3.
  • Agreeing to abide by the East Renfrewshire u3a Members' Code of Conduct and Constitution.
  • Giving your consent for the details that you have provided in the email to be used solely for the management of the East Renfrewshire u3a, its activities and the distribution of the Third Age Matters Magazine by the Third Age Trust and for these details to be stored on an electronic database. In doing so you acknowledge that you are entering into a contract between yourself and East Renfrewshire u3a.

Join at a Monthly Meeting

You can pay by cash or preferably cheque to join at a monthly meeting where our Membership Secretary can guide you through the process.


Payment & Gift Aid

Please make sure that you have completed all the email form sections and added a note to say that you have paid the £24 fee by Bank Transfer to:-

If you are a UK taxpayer, please download and complete the Gift Aid Form so that our u3a can claim back the tax from HMRC.


Subscription Renewal

You will be notified annually around 1st June that your subscription is due for renewal by 30th June. The mailing will contain details about payment methods. You can pay in person at the June or July monthly meeting – please have the exact cash or a cheque for £24 made payable to ‘East Renfrewshire u3a’.

If you do not renew your membership by 31st July your membership will expire.
